    2011 Prius JBL.
Anyone have the pinout for the connectors? I need to know which 4 pins go to the rear speakers.

    Thanks

So you've got JBL but without nav?

Being JBL, isn't there still an amp under the passenger seat?

All of the audio channels go from the headunit to the amp over AVC-LAN: pins 5 (green) and 15 (red) of the L40 connector on the back of the headunit.

It's the amp that separates out the channels to the various speakers. There are 8 pins there serving the four rear speakers.

    Yes, JBL without nav.
Would the amp be under the passenger seat?
There’s a box there, thought it was the airbag control module.

Usually it'll be clearly marked on the top of the amplifier or whatever with a sticker like Toyota does crutchfield might be your friend on things like this It's been a while since I've spent any time over there or you're undoing one of your back door panels or looking at the wiring diagram and seeing what color wire goes to each speaker left and right or if they're separated out into tweeters on the door panels up above and all that nonsense then you'll have two sets of wires going to the given channel or door then when you know that you can go back to the amplifier and get the two wires that go to the left or right rear door speaker and do whatever you want with them I don't know whether you're separating out things to put complete separates or what's happening but you do realize they are the JBL systems are all different ohm ratings than them non JBL counterparts so you want to be careful mixing speakers with other non JBL componentry. I actually should know this by heart as I rip the door panels off these cars all the time but I just don't remember the stereo layout that well never interests me that much. If you're an audio purist driving a Prius You've got other problems.

The airbag module is way forward on the center floor, beneath where the heater is.

    Thanks!
Do you also have the input side pinout for the amp?

Thanks to MAX2 for the second diagram there. So there are right and left channel audio inputs to the amp, as well as a separate channel for voice interaction, and the AVC-LAN is used for controlling amp settings.

It was my mistake to say the AVC-LAN carried the audio data.

Toyota has described high-speed AVC-LAN with the bandwidth to carry the audio too, but that seems not to be what they're using here in 2010–11. Sorry for that mistake on my part.
