I just purchased my second Prius, I have an older molder 2005 and with the FOB in my pocket I can go to the front drivers side, front passenger side and rear hatch and place my hand on the handle and it will beep and then I can open them. The 2011 model I have only works on the front drivers door. Is something turned off or is it something that is missing on my model that is no longer included? I was bummed when I tried to get in the hatch with my arms full and just grabbing the latch and nothing happened. I had to actually grab the FOB from my pocket and press the unlock button. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
no, unfortunately, they downgraded so you have to buy a higher model to get the 3 door sks. it's called de contenting.
Well thats not cool and there is no way to upgrade either as I can tell. Thank you for the quick reply
There is no straight forward simple upgrade. You would have to install the sensors in the passenger and back hatch. You can try and contact one of the Modification Gurus on this forum....member sfv41901. He'll have an answer for you.
I installed an additional liftgate sks two years ago on a 2011 prius two. I recall it costing less than $150 using genuine Toyota parts and approximately 2.5 hours labor. Below is a link to the upgrade thread: How to add SKS to the hatch and passenger door on a 1 door SKS Gen III Prius | PriusChat
You can program the Prius to unlock all doors when you touch the driver's door handle. Instructions are in your user manual. Or you can press the unlock button 2x on the fob. That will allow you to open the trunk and any door. SCH-I535
To do this, all you do is stand outside your car, press both the lock and panic button on your fob for about 7 seconds until you hear some type of beep to acknowledge the new lock/unlock all doors change.
