2011 Toyota Prius radio randomly turns off.

    2011 Toyota Prius radio starting randomly turning off. This the base radio, not the navigation device.

    The LED display turns blank, the preset buttons may work, they may not. Sometimes pressing a preset will turn the unit off. Hitting a pothole in the road may turn the unit off or on.

    The vehicle is well beyond the warranty but I believe I read a number of people having the same issue. I never saw a resolution.

    my guess is a loose connection or bad solder joint

    Do you have controls for it on the steering wheel? Could be a bad clock spring cable.
