Hey all. I was just victim to a very lovely hit and run who decided to just dent the crap out of my back bumper and it looks like I'm probably going to have to replace the whole back piece. I had a friend look at it and check the alignment and he said that everything with the car itself is fine and the damage didn't go down to the frame--so I'm lucky that I just have to look for a bumper replacement. You'll find some pictures attached, super frustrating. xD Anyway, it's a 2012 Prius C model Three and I was wondering if anyone had some good resources that I can use to order the back bumper piece myself--and I don't really care if it's OEM or manufacturer as long as it'll work and it's good quality. I'm trying to price between the insurance claim deposit and just getting the work done myself. If an OEM replacement and paint job is cheaper I might as well just go with that. Thanks all!
Until you get the replacement. have you tried putting extremely hot water over the bumper and see if the dent pops itself out? Btw That part of the car is called a bumper cover (should help in your search). You should also check the foam blocks underneath ...
It looks like the bumper is cracked a little from when I was looking at it--I took a picture of what looked like the crack. If the hot water manages to cause the dent to pop, would it make the crack worse?
