Hi Everyone! Unable to find another reference in this forum, this looked like the best section to post about this in. I apologize if this is in the wrong section. Let me know, and I'll remove the post. I need a front headrest for a 2012 v3 in the gray cloth with the swirly dot pattern, and so have been looking at salvage yard listings. Does anyone know if the cloth interiors were the same in the 2012 Prius Three HB and the 2012 v Three? I can't tell from photos that are online, nor can I find a brochure that shows this. TIA
I have both the 2012 and 2013 Prius v brochures. There was no change between 2012-2013. Both the Two and the Three had cloth seats. The available colors were DARK GRAY, MISTY GRAY and BISQUE. The simple answer is NO! Check out these links; 2012-2014 Toyota Prius V Headrest 71910-47170-B1 | Camelback Toyota Parts 2012-2015 Toyota Headrest 71910-47180-B4 | Camelback Toyota Parts Hope this helps.
(Oops. Site was down last night, and I saw your reply after I posted.) Ah, that's good information. Thank you for the link to the correct part number! Now I need to figure out which gray I have. Going off the photos on the interwebs, I think I have the Dark Gray because it seems to be the only interior color that looks two-toned. (I have included a couple of photos of my interior.) I asked for the comparison between the regular and v models because the salvage yards don't always say whether the part came out of of v or not, or they use the color code, which I have just found the key to in another thread on this forum. All I have to go on is a photo (if they even post one). It's difficult to see if there is any pattern on the fabric in most of the photos. I meant 'hatchback' when I wrote 'HB', as it's the only designation I have found to describe the regular Prius model verses the v. Having never known anyone with a Prius, I don't know if the regular Prii (Gen 2 onward) have hatchbacks or trunks. They look like hatchbacks to me, but admittedly, I don't know much about the Prius yet. I'm a new, first-time Prius owner and I'm reading as much as I can. I'm still learning how to correctly write the different models and features. I have a v Three, which I think means a model v with trim level Three. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
You can see the color swatches in the sales brochures for the 2012 Prius v (PDF) and 2012 Prius (PDF), but more importantly, in parts catalog Figure 71-01, Front Seat & Seat Track for the 2012 Prius v and 2012 Prius, there is no overlap between the part numbers for the front headrests: the design code is xxxxx-47150-xx or xxxxx-47170-xx for Prius v and xxxxx-47110-xx or xxxxx-47130-xx for Prius. To know for sure—assuming the interior wasn’t replaced after the car was built—enter the VIN on Toyota’s Vehicle Specification page, or check the certification label inside the driver’s door opening. Look for “C/TR,” the three-character code for the exterior paint color, a slash (/), and the four-character code for the trim. In the trim code, the third character (for example, the 1 in C/TR:070/FA18) indicates the marketing (parts catalog) name for the color: 1 for dark gray (gray, TRIM1#), 4 for bisque (grege, TRIM4#), and 6 for misty gray (aqua, TRIM6#).
From the dealer's catalog and your photos, it appears that there is only one version of the gray headrest. There were apparently two gray versions of the seats - one being two toned of light and dark gray and the rest being all light gray. So, there is only one version of the gray headrest. Hope this helps.
Oh wow! This is a wealth of information. Thank you very much! Mine says FA18, and the Toyota Spec page says it's a Dark Gray interior. Problem solved. I love this forum! Thanks everyone!
Are you sure? The Toyota catalog lists six versions of the headrest assembly: 71910-47150-B0 Dark Gray/Gray/TRIM1#, Fabric 71910-47150-E0 Bisque/Grege/TRIM4#, Fabric 71910-47150-G0 Misty Gray/Aqua/TRIM6#, Fabric 71910-47170-B1 Dark Gray/Gray/TRIM1#, Softex 71910-47170-E1 Bisque/Grege/TRIM4#, Softex 71910-47170-G1 Misty Gray/Aqua/TRIM6#, Softex The dealer’s catalog (from RevolutionParts) lists only the -B1, -E1, and -G1 versions; I don’t know why they omitted the others.
