Just got bumped by an idiotic driver who was doing anything but paying attention to her driving. I was stopped and she just rolled into me. Looks like no damage except I now have an imprint of her front plate on my rear bumper. No matter how much I clean it , the indentations are still quite visible. What an annoyance Any suggestions on making it less visible? I am debating whether to bother with insurance claim and have the body shop repaint/fix the bumper- Blizzard Pearl color may not an easy thing to get right methinks
Looks like the damage is limited to the bumper cover- the metal bar underneath is intact and the foam over it seems fine. I do see paint cracked on the bends of the two plastic flaps that attach the cover to the underbody. Almost looks like they were designed to be a hinge of sorts.
Exact thing happen to me. When I asked "What were you doing that you didn't see me stop?" she said "I was eating." I have two tiny scrapes of paint from her car. License plate scrape. My friend buffed most of it out but the scrapes are in the plastic. The insurance paid $1140 for labor parts and repairs. Take a look at the muffler pipe, mine was indented inward at the tail pipe $. I have the prius clear sticker on the bumper $. I lost one or two plastic pins underneath $. I actually took the bumper off to look at mine for internal damage. The white foam was crushed at a lower seam near the bottom $. The bumper will need to be purchased and painted $. The tray underneath was split a tiny bit. The adjuster said the foam needs replacing because it will not absorb again after it's been compressed once. I got some extra pocket change for new mods. I have the feeling it might happen again so I left it alone.
