2012 Plug in not charging with new charger

    I just bought an Anker A2934 charger that is 14 50 and will adjust down to 16A.

    It starts to charge but then flashes and goes off.

    Is there compatibility issues with some chargers?

    no, they are all the same. what were you using prior?

    I was using the original OEM charger but I had give it to my son for his volt.

    could be defective, is there anywhere else you can try it? did the breaker trip?

    No; you need to isolate the issue. Is it your car or the new charger or the 220 outlet? If your car charges at any other J1772 outlet, it must be your charger or 220 outlet. The OEM charger is a 110AC charger. I've seen this behavior when there's a bad ground on the charger or outlet. The safety's kicks-in and the unit shuts down.

    I was able to charge the Prius at a commercial charger this afternoon. The wall plug in seems ok as my daughter was using it for her model Y on a visit last week.

    I did buy the Anker charge from the Anker refurbished store. Maybe they did not test it properly.

    I will recheck the ground but the outlet worked perfect on the Tesla.

    I might grab my sons volt and if it has the same result.
