I try turning on the car AC with the remote basically for heating the car in the winter, but do not notice must difference. Seems the remote AC option is just a blower that circulates air in the car for 5 mins. Is it ok to turn the car on, turn on the AC and lock the door from outside. Please guide how you heat the car in winter.

the remote a/c is cooling only.

yes, you can start the car, turn up the heat and lock the door with the metal key.

maybe consider a block heater and/or remote starter.

Or you can preheat with a portable space heater on a good extension cord. Keep it away from anything that can burn or melt.

a device they install in the car, and you get a fob which starts the car remotely, like you're turning on your a/c with the prius fob.
