I am importing a 2012 Model Toyota Prius EX Hybrid Synergy Drive from Japan. The car is pretty cheap compared to other Prius models. I am worried what exactly "EX" stands for. Does it mean that the car is a lesser version of the Prius? Any information would be helpful.
A quick search of google shows that it appears that it's just a 2nd generation car (2004-2009 here in the US) that has been extended in its life while the 3rd generation (2010-2015 in the US) was on sale. In other words, it looks like Japan was selling both old and new generations side-by-side so EX was probably used to denote the older generation.
