My 2012 v is beginning to get the creaks. I notice when driving slowly up driveways or over speedbumps at an angle, I can hear creaking sounds coming from the suspension. Can anyone recommend key suspension lube points and what grease to use? Thanks in advance. 2012 Prius v Model 5 - ClassicSilver 68K miles
Perhaps not Toyota specific, yet many cars experience a creak like you describe from the sway bars. Typically each bar has two rubber bushings attached with a retainer each and each retainer/ bracket has two bolts. I don't know the torque spec for the bolts. That torque in my opinion is important. So lube the inner diameter of the bushing where it surrounds the sway bar by removing the brackets, lubing the bushings, re-insert bushings into the retainers and re-torque the bolts. "They" sell specific suspension bushing lube, yet di-electric grease will work. Some may say to get a spray can of silicon lube and just spray the bushings...you could try that first as this is easy. You may also wish to check the torque on all bolts for the shock absorbers. Good hunting.
