Looks like a good start to the New Year! Diesel Car Lineup in the U.S. for 2013 and 2014: Preview and Report Read the full story »
What a tragic outlook for enthusiasts of small fun cars that also want efficiency and *gasp* a manual transmission. There is nothing to buy. I personally exclude the Audi A3 and VW Golf TDI's because VW still hasn't adapted the improved HPFP the land-yacht Passat has under the hood. That leaves vaporware and promises. Le sigh.... One thing missing from the article is the semi-promise that MINI will drop a Diesel into the Countryman for the USDM. When the Mk7 Golf TDI drops, that'll be worth looking into. I'll say it again; Magic formula = Mazda Miata + BMW's upcoming 1.5L 3-cyl turbo-Diesel + IMA + 7MT = The Perfect Car.
