The evap purge valve on my 13 needed replacing. Easy enough fix. Went well, and I even have the new valve in and it is working fine. But.... I can't figure out how to remove the OLD valve. The bracket that holds it to the engine can't be seen at all, and the screw that holds the bracket to the valve itself is at such an angle I can get purchase with a Phillips head. Just not enough room even with a stubby one. Afraid I might strip the head. How does this thing come off?
Don't you have to undo the whole bracket that's holding the hold evap canister and all that so it drops down so you can get to the screw and all that I know on my van which is an '01 or two similar problem All of these purge valves have a similar issue trying to get them off of the canister bracketry. Some of them rust and they fall apart while you're trying to get them off I have not personally taken off the setup on the generation 3 but on the two it looks like the canister and bracket may need to be lowered to change the purge valve and it's related receptacle or plug however you look at it
Think you’re talking about this: If so, there’s a largish bolt that holds it to the intake manifold, nothing fancy.
