Both roughly the same mileage, the 2013 has 66k miles and is in the color that I want and priced at $12,600. The 2014 has 47k miles and is in white, which I don't fancy that much, but there seems to be a few less car complaints about the 2014 model and is priced at $13,600. Does the 2013 Prius have any major problems reported with it that the 2014 wouldnt? Looking to buy a Prius this week for certain. Would love to hear feedback.
Look through the reported problems on truedelta: Toyota Prius Reliability at TrueDelta: Real-world reliability data Both years have the same number of problems reported and both years are new enough so the expected problems are many years away. Is the difference in mileage worth it to you? I'd buy the other color. Maybe the white will grow on you or maybe it will grind. Why find out? Buy what you like. Ensure you get two working fobs for the car.
FWIW, the '14 model has an extra year or two on the traction battery, and is still under warranty for the powertrain. Neither warranty should come into play, but it's worth considering if you might sell the car again.
excellent. have you plugged the vin into the toyota owners website for maintenance records? not that there's anything serious to do at those mileages besides oil and filters. the '13 is a great car, i haven't heard of many problems, and the '14 is worth a thousand more. maybe just test drive and buy the one you like better.
Are you getting either one from a Toyota dealer? If yes make them make it a Toyota certified car than they can throw in the Platinum warranty for 125K mi.
