2013 Prius Head-up Display not working

Hi all,

I just came home with my second Prius ... my daughter "took over" my first. It's a 2013 trim level 4 with just over 16K miles. Tonight while reading the manuals and playing with the features, I found out that the head-up display is not being projected onto the windshield. I pressed the HUD button and it lights as does the NAVI button. But there is no display. I tried raising and lowering the display and nothing. I tried increasing and decreasing the brightness and still nothing.

Is this a known issue with a DIY repair? Is there some settings elsewhere that has disabled the HUD?
