I have a 2013 Prius with about 80k miles on it and I think I'm starting to feel a slight hesitation on acceleration from a complete stop. Any suggestions on what may be causing this and what I can do to straighten it out? c8ab78e75af7e92c78050582865eab14e528302a.jpg by Markee posted Jun 3, 2015 at 12:28 AM
Reduce your exhilaration while driving. Some might call that distracted driving! Seriously hesitation from a stop on a gen3 can be a severely worn hv battery or a bad head gasket misfiring on the transition from engine stop to running. Watch the startups from a traffic light when the hv battery level is really low and compare to stops when the battery has a better charge. Often a really bad hv battery will discharge fast at a light. If it is a head gasket and hesitation is often happening at lights, the coolant level is probably going down. Other misfires and sensor problems like a bad maf would create codes.
