Hello, I have a 2014 Prius with a functioning hood latch but a missing safety catch. Recently, the hood flew up and caused damage to the hood and hinges. I bought the rig used and did not know the safety catch was not in place until now. Does anyone know which model safety catch to purchase and install? I can not find reliable information online. Thank you for your help.
You'd call the Toyota dealer with your VIN number and they would tell you I don't know the part number without looking it up like the dealer online with the first 8 of the VIN. It's not a very expensive little thing I may have one or two of them here I'm sure they're available in the aftermarket too but a reliable Toyota part number would be a good start certainly not anything that's going to be over $30 I would hope at this date of the game.
