I have a 2014 prius 3 with Nav and I wanted to know if there is a way to have the music lower or pause each time the Nav gives voice guidance? It seems to just talk over the music. Sometimes it is very hard to hear if my music is loud. Any ideas??
Without hijacking this thread--- how do I turn up the volume on the nav unit on my new 2014 Prius 4, to be able to hear it with radio playing???
In my 2014 Prius Three, there is a speaker icon on the left of the navigation screen. That controls the navigation volume separate from the radio volume.
So I take it the radio volume does not automatically decrease when the nav gives a direction or when the voice input button is pressed, you have to adjust it manually. I'm surprised they're not integrated, but then they aren't when using my separate Garmin either.
No, the radio volume does not automatically decrease when the navigation gives directions. The radio is muted when the voice input button is pressed, though. The radio is paused/muted if you are on a call connected via the Bluetooth in the head unit, though.
Thanks. I'm still reading the manual I downloaded. I know when we finally get our car on Thursday, the stuff in the manual will make more sense.
Excellent move to read the manual *before* getting the car! It takes some drivers years to reach that stage, and others never get there at all.
Oh, I'm just reading it because I've got the time. We rented a 2010 back in 2010 and got pretty familiar with it over 1,100 miles all over Arizona on all kinds of terrain, including unpaved forest roads. We rented it on a whim from the local Toyota dealer and came away quite impressed, so here we are 4 years later about to pickup our 2014.
