I need to know what wire colors to reconnect with the front turn signal assembly. There are r colored wires: one green, 2nd green and a white & black strip. Does somebody know how to reconnect them?? Thanks
Where did they break? Info on various ways to access the wiring diagram can be found here; Toyota Service Information and Where To Find It | PriusChat
They broke exactly after the bulb socket and I ordered a new one in Amazon. The new one has only 2 wires: a blue one and a green one so which one do I connect with the original harness 3 wires. These have the following colors: purple, green and black stripes with white. Need help please!!!
That makes it sound as if the c is using dual-filament bulbs for front turn and marker, and your new two-wire socket may not be up to the job. Toyota mostly uses white-with-black-stripe for ground, so I'm comfortable making that call, but not which of purple and green is which. You could look in your wiring diagram, or grab your meter and see which one comes on with the turn signals and which one with the taillights.
After I tried to replace the left turn signal socket it still didn't light up. I discovered that the socket I ordered on Amazon had only 2 wires being made in China. Now I have to find an original Toyota part socket with 3 wires to be able to connect it correctly.
They're different kinds of sockets. Some cars will use one bulb (two terminals) for the turn signal, and another bulb (also two terminals) for the front marker light. So those cars will use two-wire bulb sockets. Other cars use a single, dual-filament bulb for both: the brighter filament for the turn signal, and the dimmer filament for the marker. That kind of bulb has three terminals (one for each filament and one that's common to both) so those cars will have a three-wire socket. It doesn't matter what country made the bulb or the socket. It's just a matter of getting the right kind. They're all readily available.
