I need help i got brake job done from toyota back in August 2021 (rotors+pads) i go for oil change to another dealer recently and they recommend me replacing rear pads( saying front at 10mm rear at 3mm) i go back to dealer who did brake job they say brakes are fine ( 10mm front 7mm rear) i said why rear pads are more worn compared to front they say its because rear pads in prius are smaller compared to front and are used more because of regenerative braking.. is that true? I thought regenerative braking does not use pads so in reality pads should not be worn unevenly compared to front?
One possibility: see link in my signature regarding rear brake wear. It’s for 3rd gen (2010~2015), but 4th gen (yours) has same type of rear brakes. (if viewing on phone turn it to landscape orientation to see signatures)
