Noticed gas going up 20 to 30 cents in my area this past week. The price of a barrel of oil is over 60 bucks for the 1st time in over 2.5 years. Primers might be smiling more as the year moves along.
Gas mileage in my old Prius was starting to drop off as it got older and now that I have a new one and filled it up the other day for just the second time gas prices won't be a major concern of mine. What can you do about it anyway. You can have an EV and still you have to pay for the gas and diesel the rest of the world uses to deliver the goods we consume. What will happen to the price of gas if demand actually started to drop world wide?
I don't have a clue, pick one. There is a 50 / 50 chance of being right. Maybe but not in my lifetime. lol
eventually... or might we somehow reduce use while still growing both economically and in population.
Yup, gas is up (imagine that). Since a lot of my drives require the ICE to come on (about 120 miles r/t) my mileage isn't as good as those with a shorter (all EV) commute... but on this current "tank" of gas (where I had a mix of 120mi r/t drives as well as enough 25-30 EV drives), I got over 1,000 miles on just 1/2 tank! When I topped it off today (because tomorrow I start 3 months of doing 120mi r/t 6 days a week) it didn't even take 6 gallons for those 1,000+ miles. The trick now (with gas prices going up) is to stay in my lower tier of electric prices (middle tier is almost double). I figure I can charge 25-26 times/mo (with my otherwise low usage) and still stay in the lower tier -- just about the amount of days I'll need to charge for the long drive each month. Go Prime!
