I have recently purchased 2018 Prius TWO. Very smooth ride, however when I accelerate from stop or low speed I hear tuk sound coming from under the engine. I took it to my mechanic, when he lift up the vehicle and manually spin the wheels we could hear the sound coming from inside the transmission. He said this is likely to be a normal sound (I do not think that's true). Has anyone had similar issue, what are the possible causes? Thanks
Might be the inner CV joint on the drivers side drive shaft. That is close to the tranny. And if one of the 4 CV joints is going bad - they do / it does - make the thunk during acceleration and other times too, when getting in even worse shape.
