I have a 2019 Avalon Hybrid Limited and there are cutouts in the front passenger floor carpet. The dealer says it is for the front floor caution plate, but that part does not come standard on my car. They say it is only for Korean models. It doesn't sound right. The carpet looks like a piece is missing. You can see the foam under the carpet at the cuts. I called Toyota and they called my dealer and the dealer told them the same thing. Does anyone have any insight into this? Thanks, D
Sorry, I won't be a much help here, but the photo showing cut out does look very "unfinished" to say the least. I just wanted ask what is "the front floor caution plate"? I've never heard it before.
On my '16 Hybrid Avalon Limited I believe there is a copy of the VIN number underneath that opening - in English, not Korean.
Just checked my '18 Prius and that's, like my Clarity, where the VIN number is located; just lift the carpet section between the holes. There should be a black plastic cover that snaps into those holes to cover it all up.
Well, Avalons for Korea are made in Kentucky, and it appears the airbag and child seat warning goes there for that market, but that doesn't explain how a car for the US market got through QA with those holes or missing cover plate. Toyota launches luxury sedan Avalon
