Does anyone know anything more about the powertrain and hybrid system of the 2020 Highlander Hybrid and how it will differ from the 2019? I have read online about it getting a 4 cylinder instead of a V6 and that it will be available in 2WD. But I don't know much more than that. Compared with the 2019, is the battery the same size? Apparently there will be a plug-in version of the RAV4, but not the Highlander. What I really want is a plug-in Sienna. :)

My first inkling is that it’s based on the new 2019 RAV4 system... so 2.5 litre 4-cylinder with NiMH batteries. Total system power is 240hp. Up to 34mpg combined (I assume that’s the FWD version). Feb 2020 launch.
