Hello everyone, With only a couple of months remaining in 2021, I figured I would wait until December (or January) to submit the application for the HOV decal so that I would maximize the HOV eligibility (until September 2025, from current legislation?) instead of getting the blue 2021 decal which would expire January 1, 2025.. with hopes that the program might be extended so I would get additional time thereafter (like what happened to me - got the green decal then the program was extended then I got the red decal). A rep from the DMV special processing unit told me today that they have been told that there will not be a 2022 decal and will stop issuing the blue decals at the end of the year. Well this sucks... anybody else hear something different? FYI: The website clearly states that the 2022 decal color TBD. Current Clean Air Vehicle Decal | California Air Resources Board
Retired! We got the "blank" out of California - last September. So, determined to see if it was possible to remove our purple stickers, it seemed the best tool for the job would be our Li'l Monster. Greatest handheld steamer ever, but cheaper Chinese versions drove them out of business. In any event, the glue on stickers is so tough to get off, one can easily see where people have removed stickers with mediocre success as some of the glue left behind is akin to porcelain. Dishonest folk will try to remove for nefarious purposes but the stickers will typically read "VOID" - once removed - and - the porcelain Like Glue Left Behind will similarly read void on the car sometimes Unless - removed with 350° steam Success! What a shame. Four perfectly good stickers that are now orphans ... .
