Note this is for the long range battery. The standard battery will come in even lower.

PLUS destination fees...docs fee, tax/title/tag, and non-optional options.......

    But I agree.
    It's an intriguing price.
Nearly as cheap as a gasser.
    +1
It almost looks like a car that an adult might drive.

Probably the very best deal you can get on an EV right now.

This vehicle has always been a sleeper - allowing common people to get in the EV door at a reasonable price.

Our neighbor down the street has a 10 year old leaf that they are very pleased with.

Often heard negative comments but have never meant a person I knew who had a leaf and didn't really like it, they all seem to love the vehicle.

We often hear people complaining about non affordable EV's for the common person or companies who will be doing that in the future - Nissan has been doing it for over 10 years (15 years to be exact)!

Well the mid-range SV+ is $34k++ so there's your options. That's the price of a loaded Prius Prime Advanced in 2017, right?

    Some?
Or 99% of them. Just say'n - by the time they'd hit 40K miles - yea issues. That paltry 80ish miles (although advertised to get 100) was typically down in the 50s. Desert communities even worse.
As for air-cooled? Can anyone verify that ALL of them now are no longer air-cooled?
Oh almost forgot. That puny puny battery? They quickly jacked the price up from $5,000 to $10,000. What a bargain LOL - the car was no longer even WORTH $10K. iirc - we were barely able to sell that pig for $4K at the 6yr mark.
But maybe we should give them another chance.
    Said nobody ever LOL

They are now supposedly liquid cooled batteries; but with their track record - I personally wouldn't touch them for a few years. @hill those who leased their first gen leaf; really dodged a bullet.
A friend bought a used fully loaded one ($4K), but the battery would only go 80 miles on it's best day. We have EV chargers at our facility that's free - so he uses it as an around town car. After 4 years, it's down to 45 miles - but he's saved a bunch of gas in his commute over that last 4 years.

Yeah - when the faithful hopeful 1st couple years of owners file class actions against your product? It doesn't bode well for customer loyalty

That only applied to the 2011-2012 right? Wasn’t there an improved battery for 2013? (Lizard battery?). Yeah I know it’s still air-cooled.

As a whole, Leafs saw greater capacity loss over time than EVs with liquid cooling, even with the improved battery. Not sure if that is true in comparison to other air cooled packs, but those all had a fan. I'll take active air cooling over the old Leaf's passive cooling.

Yeah I think that was the egregious thing by Nissan. Not even a fan like the Prius? That’s just cost cutting to the extreme.

Maybe Nissan should have gone through with the Renault merger - instead of trumping up mismanagement charges & chasing their CEO out of Japan.

It's one thing to face a trial when you got maybe a 50/50 shot of success. But the Japanese legal system is - shall we say skewed for the state - big time.

I like that the price is coming down.

I am NOT at all pleased with the exterior and interior. The exterior is too SUV. The interior is too much screen.

Make a cheap, spartan, 70's-through-90's-sized, econo hatchback (or small sedan, or small wagon) and I might be interested.
