Hey everyone. I'd like to hear from people who have this tire size on their gen 2 without a lift, on whether these rub during turns or bumps.

Upon searching I have only found a couple accounts of people doing this, and wish to see if more people have tried it since and whether the experience was good or bad.

For what it's worth, despite not having a lift, the new monroe struts I installed have made my car about 1 inch taller in comparison to the old tired struts.

Respectfully, if you don't have this size of tire on your gen 2 now or previously, you are not who I'm directing this question towards. Thank you!

The 205 is approximately 8/10 of an inch larger or something then your stock 185 65 You should have no problems with this tire per se but the width may have you clipping the fender side or the outer edge of the wheel to the fender maybe that's if you're shocks are flat you have no suspension etc or your suspension is overly wavy or plungie or however you want to look at it I'm running 215 65s with a 40 mm lift without any clearance issues I could have gone taller what is going to happen with your 205s Is your gas mileage is going to plummet to about 38 mi to the gallon maybe even 37 try it and see I'll be waiting to hear I can almost run the 215s with the front end not lifted It would be close that is with tight front suspension shocks all of that no lowering kits no raising kits nothing The 215 will spin and roll when you get heavy in the turns there may be a rubbing issue so I would think you're 205 65 would even be good with the same suspension

Let me know what happens with that tire size when you do that because I'm getting ready to take the spacers out of the front end of my car and I'm thinking I'm going to set it down on that same size 205 65 15 and see if that pulls my gas mileage back when the car comes down I think the front end needs to be close to the pavement when you get all that air up under the front end picks up on the car causes you to use more gas because you're forcing the car into the air unlike an airplane is trying to lift it and the wider tires or contact patch with the road is certainly not helping I may even go back to a 195 65 15 which is taller but the skinny part contacting the road I think may have a lot to do with it also It did on Corollas where I up the tires to the cute little 205s and the 215 series have to play around with it
