Could I get it for less? How much do you think I should counter offer? Doing this over email with internet sales person at dealer. We haven't purchased a new car in over 12 years..usually drive our cars into the ground...we hate car payments, but will consider the 0% or.9% financing if available. 1. Can you tell me if this is a good deal or are we being swindled with either the price or the "fees" in central NJ? New 2012 Prius v Three, 27594.54 out the door price: Selling price $25072; NJ sales tax is $1755.04; doc fee $359.;tire tax $7.50; and dmv $401. New plates, No trade-in at this time. Nothing extra in terms of options... 2. Anyone able to get the 0% financing on a new 2012 prius? 3. or could I get a new 2013 v Three for close to this price with 0% financing? THanks so much...want to purchase this week
I was originally planning on getting the Prius v when I went out shopping last month. Had to get a car after an accident. Price on a new '12 was pretty darn close to what you were being offered (I'm next door in PA). Unfortunately the 0% financing was ONLY available on the new 2013 models according to my dealer. They 2012 model wasn't in the color I wanted anyway and they didn't have 2013 in the color I wanted either. They could get the 2013 v I wanted from another dealer but they couldn't budge on pricing. At the end of the day I actually opted for a new 2013 regular base model Prius. They had the color I wanted in stock and gave me a great price on it to keep me from walking out the door since I actually had an appt at another dealer. Even got them to toss in a free cargo net too. Sure I really kinda wanted the Prius v but couldn't pass up the great deal on the regular Prius. Plus I was very disappointed in the uncomfortable middle back seat in the v and I kinda liked the way the regular Prius drove better. Might be worth checking out.
Thanks Friar, I was afraid that they would not finance at 0% on new 2012 cars..I want to counter offer on this P v3..but wanted a couple of suggestions on reasonable offer? $24000 to low? since 0% not offered...? We test drove the regular Prius and Prius v...we are kinda big people and carry big things, felt more comfortable in the v.
The interest on 25k at 0.9 % is only about $500-600. One would think they would be willing to budge at least that much to off load the 2012 if they can't do 0%. Offering 24k seem reasonable. bisco has an excellent idea regarding contacting other dealers also.
