Today, I received the $300 rebate check from Toyota. To recap, I ordered mid-October, 2003, bought a Prius 2004 July 10, 2004 and have tried since then to get my rebate. Throughout all this time, the Toyota personnel have been very courteous but I still was unable to get the rebate. Some factors discussed before in this group are: --name on order should be exactly the same as on the purchase papers. --a change of address will cause a delay in the check procesing or even stop it. --if a different dealer sells the car rather than the dealer who took the first order, the rebate check process is confused. --the owner needs to contact Toyota directly and not wait for anything to happen after the initial paperwork to get the rebate has taken place. I received several different "stories" from Toyota personnel when I called 1 800 331 4331 but no check. I then emailed Toyota using the contact info on the Toyota web site (thanks to Michelle V who mentioned the contact). I had a quick reply and, after several glitches, got the check.
