I came across an ad which pointed me to 2012 Honda Civic Natural Gas - Incentives - Official Honda Website about the above incentive. Interesting... I looked at November 2012 Dashboard | Hybrid Cars at CNG Civic sales and it looks like they've cratered compared to the same month last year. I wonder if that's the reason for the incentive.
A likely reason for the incentive. I'm not sure how much it will help. The hold up on CNG vehicle adoption is the refueling infrastructure. Great there is one you can use, but in some areas a CNG Civic can have less usability than a BEV. Being tied by its shorter than gasoline car range to a few CNG pumps. IIRC, the government incentives on CNG cars are good. So of the people in which the CNG Civic can work for, the majority have already purchased one. This incentive might pull in a few more sitting on the fence.
