From what I read online, there are three LEDs that make up the low beam for each side. Two in projectors, and one in a reflector as a flood lamp for the foreground.

I have been looking at mine and I can't seem to find it. Has it been removed from the 2012's or am I just stupid? :p

On a closer look, it does seem the flood lamp has been eliminated. The white car is mine and a 2012, the blue one I found online and is of an older model.

The cluster in the space on top and between the projectors is gone.

Yes, it's been removed. I guess they've found a way to provide near/wide illumination without the need of the flood lamp.

I hope they improved the design / LEDs and can now achieve the same with less power. I hope this was an engineering decision and not a bean counter decision.
