The 3rd quarter results are in for CA (CNCDA.org) and USA (electricdrive.org). http://www.cncda.org/CMS/Pubs/Cal_Covering_3Q_14.pdf Electric Drive Sales Looks like for 2014: CA sold 44,000 out of 88,000 Plug-ins thru Sept_30 so exactly 50% of Plug_ins sold in CA CA: no reduction in Hybrids+Plug_ins...little higher this year (9.6% of cars!) USA: has small reduction in Hybrids+Plug-ins (3.5% 2014 YTD) versus 3.8% 2013 Wow what happened to Plug-In hybrids recently (sales "died" in Sept) Plug-In hybrids were leading for Ca. vs. BEV, but BEV sales now much better than PHEV since Sept EDIT: I am calculating 30% of all hybrids+plug-ins sold in CA. That's a big Twinkie. ~11% of population.
Bar graphs? Pie charts? YECH!!! I'll take a good spider-chart BUT when a series of spider-charts are posted and the radials change . . . someone is trying to push an agenda. <GERRRR> Actually the second link has tables that accurately follow the data we're seeing from the Hybrid Dashboard reports. Just I like a little finer detail to see what is happening within these new car sales. Bob Wilson
