I bought replacement tires at Costco at 40k miles and since they do free rotations, no need for me to pay the dealer to do it. And since I don't need an oil change until 50k miles, beyond the cursory checks of fluids and filters, is there any need for me to go in for the 45k service?

If there isn't anything else in the owner's guide, I would say no.

When you replace the tires you should have your Alignment checked. (y)

Alignment was done by dealer at 40k mile service so no worries there. Just wondering what others have done around this mileage point since tires are typically replaced about now. For now I think I'll skip the 45k service appt - assuming that all fluid levels can be checked visually under the hood. Between now and 50k, I'll also replace the cabin air filter and check if the ICE air filter needs replacing too. I'll reach about 60k mile by Nov. when my lease ends and I will likely buy it. If I do, then I'll have the ATF fluid drained and replaced. In the past 30 years or so, the highest miles I kept a car was to 56k - I'd like to go for broke on this one. BUT....., the Prius V keeps catching my attention and would be more comfotable on long trips with the dog! Just wish it had the 2.5L Camry Hybrid system in it.

I check fluid levels under the hood and tire pressures every week or two. Other than that I have been doing the required services every 10K miles plus ATF change every 30K. I plan on doing coolant changes and new spark plugs a little earlier than required.
