I’m trying to fabricate a mounting structure for a winch/metal front bumper using the same gist of a tow hitch receiver (the hitch receiver is sandwiched between the frame and the crash beam). I was wondering if there was any difference in the frame area between the two crash bars in my Prime: the bigger one on top would obviously be stronger, but there’s a bunch of wires and stuff in the way, and the lower one would be smaller but much simpler. I know a structure in the crumple zone wouldn’t be a good idea, but I was wondering if I could hook up a 2500lb winch and have the frame not buckle or something if I decide to use the lower crash beam mounting area.
