Hi. I had my 50,000-mile service this week and the dealer suggested the following (but I held off as I wanted to do a little research first): Cabin filter $89.95 Engine Coolant $155.75 Inverter Coolant $155.75 Throttle body service $169.95 (If the prices look funny, I'm in the New York area.) I'm not a DIY'er, but I'm just wondering if the above are really needed or the dealer needs business. I'm not having any trouble with the car, but I do intend to hold for the long-term. Thanks for any help!
Assuming your vehicle has about 50k, and you are not having any performance concerns, all those services will do is line the stealer's pockets with your money. Coolant services are not due until 100k, throttle body service can be accomplished with a $5.00 can of spray and probably not yet necessary, and the cabin filter can be easily changed DIY for about $10.00. Next service I would recommend is transaxle drain and fill at 60k.
