This afternoon when getting in the car after work, I powered it up, when to adjust the AC and no MFD functions worked. The MFD wasn't dead, but acted like it wasn't plugged in to the car. It reported the radio off, it was on, but no DICE output, the four buttons didn't beep and response time to the different displays was really slow, and reported everything disconnected. The energy screen was what you see when the car is powered on brake off. Anyone else encounter this? I am hoping they don't turn around and blame the DICE unit for this even though it connects to the radio only and nothing else. Radio was still working, including the CD. Loaner car is a corolla, not as much rom as the prius and not nearly as quiet and comfortable, now I can see the difference in cost between the cars, the prius is a much better car.

Usually disconnecting the power to the DICE unit will fix the problem. Reconnect the power and everything should be normal. Call DICE to make sure you have the latest version of the product, they are good about replacing units with down-rev firmware.
I called this morning and gave them the TSB number I found and to let them know I have the DIce in there, so they should try unplugging it first. They are still working on it now, so I don't think it is the Dice causing it(I hope).
Update, it was a short at the radio that caused it, not the MFD, and thankfully not the Dice. All is working again. When I picked up the car I found the battery was down to two bars, that is how it was when I dropped it off, but didn't know it. That explains why it was so sluggish, once the battery topped off, it was back to normal.
