Voluntary Tesla's Model S Seat Belt Recall Isn't Actually a Big Deal | WIRED If I were 100 miles from a service center, it'd be an easy DIY project ... maybe 35 seconds? .
More like one minute per side. I received an email yesterday with this notice. It had a link to schedule an appointment. So I stopped by today, the manager was in the parking lot as I pulled in. He came over, we chatted a bit and he showed me what they were checking. Very simple and straightforward. I heard Tesla's goal is to have all 90,000 cars checked in ten days. I also heard they suspect the one occurrence of this in Europe may have been due to some after market adjustments, but they want to be sure. I wish more companies would take safety issues so seriously and handle them so efficiently.
Across the industry flaws happen. Everything from Major to Minor. For Tesla as well as everyone the key is reaction. Recent history surely has illustrated that an honest reaction to a discovered problem is the way to go. This is very, very minor, and Tesla is reacting exactly as they should.
