07 with an intermittent A/C issue... the system was just recovered and a pund of 134a was replaced in the system ( along with dye). It shows NO LEAKS (so far) and the temperature is cool, not COLD ( around 60 degrees at most. This is not enough to keep me cool and I am not sure what is going on. The condensor is working as I see that temp change as I test along the flow of the system. The compressor is on and obviously doing SOMETHING... How do I test with the given situation? The compressor sounds normal. Or is this just a compressor that is on its last legs? Any air conditioning experts in the house?
What is this recovery performed on a large RRR What is this recovery performed on a large RRR (recovery recycle recharge) Machine?. 1 pound 454 g what does the sticker under your hood say for its requirements of refrigerant ?. Or did this one town come from a 1 pound can ?. Because the cans for R134a or actually only 12oz, 340g, If the refrigerator was recovered that means it was hooked up to a machine and it had gauges on it that means you could give us the pressure readings.
Thank you for your input on the '07... All the work was done by a shop who used a recovery/recharge machine and what they told m is that 1 lb of refrigerant was added.. What I did not tell you was that this car has been for sale for a couple of weeks and As of a couple of hours ago I sold it to a young couple who were not very concerned about the A/C... I told them everything about it and they said they prefer to not use A/C and just power the windows down. So this car is already history. BUT I have another '07 that someone gave to me. I replaced the actuator and installed a traction battery out of a gen 3 and guess what needs to be repaired? YUP, you guessed it, the A/C is not working. Does it have a leak? Since there was NO refrigerant in the system, I would say yes. All I did with this so far (and this was a couple of weeks ago so I am a bit fuzzy on the exact details) was hook up a pressure manifold and vaccum and added some dye and 1 can of refrigerant 12OZ... No PAG oil. Since that time, I see no obvious leak, but I have not driven the car very much since this aformentioned event. I do see some very small speck of dye on the compressor hose fitting that would be on the high pressure side, but nothing more. I did not record any pressures on the high and low side. Suggestions at this point? And thank YOU! PS I have looked at lech auto A/C videos but nothing seems to hit on the issue yet...
