My A/C works fine but the air it blows out is not nearly as cold as the A/C in our 93' Camry. So I am wondering if there is a problem. I assume on the MAX COLD setting there is a specification on what the temperature difference should be between outside air and the A/C output air, I can just use a thermometer at a A/C vent to check. Assuming A/C is set to outside intake. (the A/C is still satisfactory when I operate on recirculate) Does anybody know if there is a factory spec for the temperature difference?

Something else to consider, which you may already know, the Prius uses a variable speed compressor for the A/C. The synchronous A.C. motor runs the compressor only as fast as it needs to to maintain the desired temperature. Of course on MAX COLD it should indeed be maximum cold.
Running on recirc gives cleaner air and, when the outside air is hotter than inside, it's more efficient .
