I wish we spent more time talking about this stuff... Sadly our society has too many people who are deeply scared and will be loyal to the pecking without thinking critically because they don't want to be lower in pecking order. But truth is we knew our history and could think critically and defended the need for equality we wouldn't even need a pecking order.

 

Malcom X - a person who professed hatred and violence and ended up dying as a result of hatred and violence.

If you learned more about MalcomX you'd realize he had very little hatred and a great deal of intelligence and wisdom. But I get it...

Some people would rather set aside critical thinking and forsake learning about all the world has to offer in favor of close minded-obedience and memorizing bible verses to justify why they will never question the morality of white supremacy and oppression in all its forms.

 

I like King's methods more....but then I didn't grow up in the rust belt in the 50's and 60's.

Two things can be true at once.
Mr. X (no relation to any of Elon's kids) is widely regarded as "an African American revolutionary, Muslim minister and human rights activist."
He was also something of a segregationist, anti-zionist, and wasn't exactly down with the LGBT thing.

Malcom was undoubtedly intelligent and he had megawatts of 'riz.
I normally do not question how people 'faith'.

I have questions.....

The Southern Poverty Law Group have characterized the Nation of Islam as a black supremacist hate group that promotes racism towards non blacks, antisemitism and anti-LGBT rhetoric.
To add to the mix - Malcom renounced the NOI movement and drifted into the Sunni faith - at least in name. Some primary sources and his speeches are still somewhat ANTI-SUNNI to my admittedly Protestant ear.

I must admit to not having actually LISTENED to Malcom X's speeches - so something may have been lost there.
If we've learned ANYTHING over the last week is it that there can be a vast gulf of understanding between a speech transcript and actually listening to the actual full recording!!!!!

What got him across the circuit breakers with the NOI.......and shot, is still up for some debate - but my guess it was NOT Mr. X's Sunni Faith.

Regardless of which tactics you prefer, they were both seen as a threat to United States government and the role the US government played in ensuring both of them were assassinated is well documented.

I try to use 'tactics' as outlined in a fairly old instruction manual from my manufacturer.
I'm as base as any other human, perhaps even more so than most - so my compliance is not always in keeping with those instructions.

Example:
I'm against the death penalty, but I'm NOT somebody you want on a jury if you're guilty of some of our capital crimes....

 

Why not include many other historical instances?
What does skin color have to do with foolish human behavior?

The same ethnic dance was enacted all over Europe which is why the Catholic immigrants were in the US.

Ask the Jewish people about persecution or death - they may have some historical content to contribute also.
