Had my first car wash with the tractor guides and had to put the Prius into netural. A little tricky. Almost couldn't do it. A little scary as if I had it in D I would have hit the car in front of me. Any tips as to how to get it into N from a complete stop? Perhaps I was a little rushed and didn't concentrate on the task at hand. I also took off the antenna as recommended . Got a beautiful car wash after all of this. FishHawk
True. Quick doesn't work... which is a darn good thing. I always hated how easy it was to bump a traditional shifter. I hadn't even thought that some people wouldn't realize that just waiting a second was required to shift into neutral. That tip will most definitely be added to the User-Guide. Thanks for indirectly pointing out the need.
At my regular car wash they are quite aware of the hybrid peculiarities: - Do not turn it off (since that places it in park) -Turn off the lights & AC -Stick a big blue tag on the driver’s window which indicates that the car is a hybrid and is on. They actually hand wash the cars while they roll on the rails.
Don't worry, FishHawk, I did the same thing first time I went through a car wash. One thing I've learned - the Prius is NOT a car for those who insist on immediate gratification.
I actually backed out of my first car wash! Just waint another second and all is fine. \ <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(FishHawk @ Dec 17 2006, 08:30 AM) </div>
