Any chance anyone knows if we can get a second battery, or if a regular Prius battery might work. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but the charge really doesn't last long, I do like my AC.

it's not an electric car, it's a hybrid. you should be concerned about mileage, not how long the charge lasts.
For the most part you are correct, but if drive around on EV mode it uses the battery. More battery = less gas = higher mileage. Also I sit in my car filling out paperwork alot for work, runs the AC.
