This EV1 is just sitting behind a research center, getting no love. If it was available, there would be a line of people to acquire it.
I have a picture somewhere, Francis Ford Coppola has one. There's another in the Bay Area, that someone spotted on Google Street View. Needless to say that one was moved beyond looky loo views. .
No - the agreements between rhe entities that ultimately got the EV1's from GM no longer exists. That old company went bankrupt. Any liability GM feared is now voidable .... just like the dozens of Acres of polluted / toxic manufacturing sites that they dumped a decade or more ago. .
now you're making me feel bad about owning their stock. hoping they will get a spike so i can cash in and wait for tesla to nosedive, but both situations look unlikely at this point
Charity Auction? One of the universities collaborated with several of the original engineers, from Battery management to controllers, restoring it to original / pristine condition. That would fetch pretty/shiny coin. iirc, Jay Leno tried unsuccessfully to buy one off GM, offering 7 figures. And that was what, year 2003 valued currency? .
I saw the video where Jay saw Coppola's EV1. Now maybe Jay should make this school an offer they can't refuse.
