... probably high time, might want to lend thought, changing out those OEM lug nuts. Especially so, if your GEN II was equipped the OEM locking wheel nut:

Slapdash quality, could not stand the test of time, just had all 4 locking lugs removed, replaced with conventional lug nuts.

Pothole from hell, left front blowout, found myself stranded, at a San Fernando Valley hospital parking lot today, locking wheel nut sheering off, destroying its special socket when the sheered off fragment embedded itself, deep inside its key.

Proud member since the Nixon administration, took three hours for the AAA people to dispatch a wrecker.

Problem solved, new policy, no more locking lug nuts, for any of my cars. It's good to be home -

Dang, sorry that happened! My co-worker has an old BMW and broke down in Denver a few months ago and AAA took about 5 hours to get him some help.

And I agree about those stupid locking lug nuts, won't find any on my vehicles.

two triple a experiences in 30 years. one to jump a dead 12 volt, took about 45 minutes to arrive, and one to replace a dead 12 volt in our barn. happy with them, but like any insurance, you never know what end you're going to come out on.

To quote from the late-great Toby Keith, 'they ain't as good as they once was,' but they're probably as good once as they ever were.

    Lile the man said.
    It's insurance.
You hope you NEVER need to use them at all.
