While in parking when i press the brake very annoying sound come from the ABS or driving in slow speed like turning in a very small space it sounds are annoying. Some mechanic says it normal while others says your ABS will definitely throw a code. Does my ABS needs maintenance or what? Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
You have a 13 year old car. Have the brakes ever had a FULL service during that time ? If not, you need to do that NOW.
Without knowing what kind of sound annoys you, it is very hard to say. Perhaps you could describe the sound in question, or post a recording that isolates it clearly. (That last part is important; many people here will post a recording of an indistinguishable mix of half a dozen sounds the car was making, and even after listening we still have to guess which sound they were asking about.) If it sounds a little bit like a metallic rattlesnake, that is the electric pump maintaining your brake fluid pressure, which is its job.
