ABS light comes on, wheels lock, and then goes off

    I've sometimes had it (Typically in bad weather), that the ABS light is starting to flash, and my wheels are starting to lock

    I've used cheap winter tyres (new) Could this be why I'm getting this?

    Could be.

    Do you think the term "lock" could be an exaggeration? Could slip be a better word?

    If so, it is a normal thing particularly worse/better depending on tire choice.
