    HI all
A fine time for the blower to quit. With temps over a hundred in Mississippi. I commute 200 miles a day. My fan played out.
When I start the car the fan will start if I turn it with my finger. It will run at slow to medium speed for 4-5 minutes. Then it slows down till it stops. It won't run again till the car has sat for hours. Then it will start again with my finger. Have you heard of this before? I purchased a fan. Do I need a resister?
    Thanks Don

Generally dry bearings cause that sort of a problem, but you would have noticed the fan was stiff to turn. Next most likely is brushes stuck so not making proper contact with the com. resulting in damage to the com itself.
Very unlikely to be the resistor, but with poor air flow and still under load, it could damage the slow speed .....

It was common to have a resistor in older cars. A gen 2 Prius has a small electronic module that mounts into the ductwork pretty much the same way old resistors did, but it doesn't have a resistor.

That's why I've never replaced the blower resistor in this model thank goodness finally.
