I just bought a 2008 Prius that has some nasty haze accumulated on the inside surface of the speedometer display cluster. Can anyone direct me towards a disassembly diagram/PDF for the dash, or procedure for accessing this area sufficiently enough to remove and clean the surface?
The display you see is a mirror image of the display that lies flat in the top of the dashboard (difficult to see) make sure this is clean before dismantling anything. IN ready mode slide a flat card or magazine toward the dispay to see what I mean.
Yeah. Unfortunately the contamination is on the underside and cannot be cleaned without removing the dash so far as I can surmise. It would be nice to have a service manual for the removal procedure.
Dash , combination meter removal. My display is also hazy, . Edit - I cleaned mine Jan 2012. Nice bright display now.
