the ACSI, or American Customer Satisfaction Index, is a rating of customer satisfaction for 200+ companies across a wide variety of industries. This year, Lexus tied with BMW for the top rating, an 87. Close behind, Toyota got an 86. Pretty much the entire auto industry was around there, with Chrysler Jeep getting the lowest score at 76. In other industries, however, the gap was a bit bigger. Apple scored an 85, while their competitors scored significantly lower: Dell was second with a 75, then HP at 73, Gateway at 72, and Compaq at 70... Microsoft fell behind everyone with a miserable 69. In fact, the only corporations that scored worse than Microsoft was the airline industry (as a whole) and the telecom industry (cable, satellite, and a few cellular).
