    Hello All:rockon:

First off, let me say that I really do honestly love my prius. I posted the stats in the newbie forum, but ill just let you all know here what I have also.

Its a 2010 Silver pkg III w/ factory installed leather seats, auto-dimming/homelink-mirror, 3m protection, door guard, and tint.

I paid 27000 for it and am beginning to realize that I have made an unwise decision. I rushed into buying a 2010 because it had 0% financing and I was told by the dealer there were literally a "handful" left. Which is a really great thing...but is it? This prius had 311miles on it when I picked it up...much more than I was aware of...but thats fine, its a 2010.

However, I am disappointed in a couple things. Namely the price. I shouldve bought a IV if I could've found one, its only 27k as well but has many of those things standard. I have read on here of people using overstock.com, but I had to work through the dealerships around my area and ended up getting this one trucked up to Little Rock AR from Louisiana. This is my first new car buying experience, and I feel like I have learned a little too much from it...

When I first saw it, it was incredible. But after driving it, it has really started to bug me that the door sills are clothe. It just doesn't make sense to me with the leather seats that are not heated. This is my second disappointment. Not necessarily the heated seats, but the clothe door panels.

My dealer said:"yeah, in California they replace the door trim as well when the cloth is upgraded. But not here, try looking on the internet and see who might do conversions."

At first this seemed really unhelpful, but I am going to call an auto-upholstery shop tomorrow to see what I can get done. The dealership, Northpoint Toyota, has been helpful/kind. But I feel like for the price I paid, they shouldve been more willing to work with me on my disappointments with the car, especially since it was easily assumed by me that the door panels would be leather when I was buying the car.

    what do you all think?

did I make a good choice on the car? did I pay too much? how should I get the vinyl door panels?

The equivalent of a Prius II costs $33,144 here. The equivalent of a V with ATP costs $45,290. And our petrol costs about $9 a gallon now.

    I think you did fine.

The only packages with factory leather are the IV & V. You bought a III with a bunch of Port Installed Options. It doesn't really matter if they were installed by the dealer or by the Region.

Next time do some research before buying a car. Look at the manufacturer's website. Get quotes through AAA or Costco (if you are a member). Do as much shopping/negotiating by e-mail or phone through the dealer's Internet Sales Dept.

Regardless of what you paid for your car someone paid more & someone paid less. It doesn't matter. Be happy with the one you bought.

You'll need to find an upholsterer to finish the job to your satisfaction.

    Enjoy.
