Hello: I put down a deposit on a 2010 Prius II that has only 7400 miles on it. It was a local corporate car and purchased in December of 2009. I'm am buying it from a reputable local dealer, but it is not Toyota Certified. The Car Fax record is clean. Would you suggest I have a mechanic check it out before I pick it up? Or, would it be a safe purchase because it is still under warranty? Thank you!
What does your gut tell you to do? If it's screaming to have it checked, then do it! BTW, is there really such a thing as a reputable used car dealer?
I agree with going with your gut. Also go with your nose. Does the car dealer smell like too much deodorant? Often times that is done to cover up someone sweating while lying.
Did you check the price of a new base II at www.aaa.com? II's & III's are plentiful around here so if you can get a significant discount go for it. Also run the VIN at Toyota Owners Online | Official Toyota Owners Website to see the dealer service history.
